Traci Laizerovich
Traci was born in Framingham, MA. She moved to Dallas when she was five and lived there 12 years until college. Traci attended the Univ. of Arizona and received a B.A. in Elementary Ed. She taught for nine rewarding years before she left to start a family. Though she has been a lover of art her whole life, her inspiration for creating art didn’t come until about 10 years ago. While teaching in Houston, she became inspired. She had taken the fifth grade classes to museum exhibitions. One exhibit highlighting the hand woven folk art of the Huichol Indians inspired her to begin her artistic journey. Most of Traci’s work is non-representational ... focusing on lines, curves and geometric shapes. Traci loves to make circles because it is the most unique of shapes with no beginning or end. She strives to create balance and harmony while reflecting her passion for color. She uses satin, nylon and cotton cords, that vary in light reflection. From afar, the finished picture looks like a painting, but up close, you see it is made of string meticulously placed by hand. When Traci is not working on art, she is spending time with her husband and two children. Traci enjoys traveling, reading and gardening. Traci’s art currently hangs in private collections in Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Irving, Houston, San Antonio, Galveston, New York, New Jersey, Boston, Miami and Scottsdale. Her works are now being showcased at ART is ART, so stop on by!
